Click here 08/03/2012 WARDRUM ANNOUNCE NEW SINGER, NEW ALBUM TITLE AND REVEAL COVER ARTWORK Back 1 year after their debut, Greek heavy / power metal act Wardrum, return with their brand new opus "Desolation" via Steel Gallery Records, to be released on 25th April 2012. Taking a step onwards from their debut 'Spadework', the band delivers an even more powerful sound that still retains the melodies and technicality of its critically acclaimed predecessor. 'Desolation' also marks the first album recorded with the new singer, Yannis Papadopoulos (Until Rain, Crosswind) a great vocalist who also lives in Thessaloniki and has brought stability to the band. The cover artwork, a work of Piotr Szafraniec especially created for Wardrum, is the "next step" of the debut "Spadework" cover while the album's complete layout is a work of Gregory Derekenaris. The band has finished with the drums (Stergios Kourou) and guitars (Kosta Vreto), Kostas Scandalis is now recording the bass, while Piero Leporale is programmed to finish with the vocals by the end of January 2012. The new album follows the sound paths of their debut "Spadework", but in a more powerful way, with strong songs, lyrical choruses, melodic guitar solos, and technical rhythm section. The band will release their new album through Steel Gallery Records in 2012. 27/10/2011 Stergios Kourou on Drum recording tutorial DVD "Sonic Ark" is a Greek company that deals with sound recording and music productions and will soon release a tutorial DVD named "Complete Drum Recording" about the drum recording methods for all styles of music. It's a teaser of 3':20" length and you can taste a bit more how the debut album sounds, while you can drop an eye on some more photo's from that works photo session. Here's the link 08/03/2011 "Spadework" will be the name of the Wardrum debut. All recordings are done and Kostas Scandalis is reaching to the production's final stage, the album's mix and mastering. This work will be released under the label of "Steel Gallery Records", the oldest Greek record label for Metal, while the artwork belongs to Michal Karcz, member of the famous Rainer Kalwitz team (Shadow Gallery, Century Media, Massacre, Inside Out). The release is arranged for the 15th of April. 02/12/2010 Studio report: All instruments are now recorded. Special thanx to our additional musicians, Sofi Stavropoulou (flute), Aris Kapagiannidis (Violin, Viola) and Pella Papavasiliou (cello) for the quick and great work. Now it is vocals time... 02/11/2010 Studio report: Kosta Vreto is 90% done with the recordings of the guitars keeping a good pace by fully completing one song per day, while Kostas Scandalis is already wedging some bass lines. The album starts to take form and the band is quite satisfied so far with the result, while the real thing will start showing up when the vocal lines join in... 25/09/2010 Wardrum begin the recordings of their debut today. The drums will be done in "Mix studio", engineered by Fotis Demertzis and produced by Fotis Demertzis and Kostas Scandalis. Guitars and Bass will be recorded in the "Infinity studio", engineered and produced by Kostas Scandalis, while for the vocals the need of a third studio is seemingly inavoidable. 31/07/2010 Pre-recording rehearshals begin today. Soon the band will enter the recording studio. It's quite clear that the recordings will take place in more than one studio, due to the special needs and circumstances. Main target is surely a killer production result. Let's see! 06/07/2010 A vocal-less pre-production of ten songs is already done and the result is more than exciting. The composotions, in spite of their characteristic rythmic paterns and riffs, are all based in the vocal melodies and certainly keep an easy to catch mood with their emerging chorus parts and melodic guitar solos.
